CALIBER Game Launch
In January 2024 Caliber worked with Saulderson to deliver a campaign highlighting their new game update and realign their audience with their desired player demographic. They tasked Saulderson to put together a compelling strategy that would achieve their goals. We produced a creative campaign that included live streams & let’s play’s, integrated content and social media posts targeted at views of popular tactical shooter-based creators for maximum effect.
The Challenge
The aim was to increase hype and positive sentiment towards the game following updates and bug fixes, with the Steam reviews moving from ‘mixed’ to ‘mostly positive’ over the same period.
1C Games Studios were facing a major problem. After a series of bugs and issues with Caliber across 2023, reviews for the game had become more negative. They were experiencing a lot of players leaving the game and not many signing up to play.
With a new update to fix many of these bugs at the end of 2023, 1CGS wanted to spread the word around all the changes to the game and why existing players should come back, and new players should download and play now.
The Solution
We utilised popular gaming creators, with tactical-based gaming channels, to target the ideal audience, and to showcase new updates, quality of life features, and gameplay updates to bring lapsed players back into the game to experience the game again..
Saulderson Media used a mix of integrations, social posts and ‘Let’s Plays’/streams to showcase gameplay, culminating in a mix of content to reach the widest possible audience of lapsed and new players..
The Result
The campaign culminated in a great response from the lapsed player base, and a good uptake from new players who usually frequent competitor titles as a result of our approach.
We successfully changed the narrative and attracted above target downloads to the game. After this successful test, 1CGS have renewed their work with Saulderson Media and we are planning our next campaign.
